Consecration of Bread and Craftsmen Parade
Evoking the century – old tradition this year too during the Festival of Folk Arts dancers and craftsmen celebrate St. Stephen’s feast with splendid Harvest wreath procession and ceremonial consecration of the bread. A festive Bread Blessing ceremony will be held on August 20 at 3.30pm on the Clark Ádám Square stage. Following it participants will walk along the Lánchíd (Chain bridge) to the Basilica where at 5pm cardinal Péter Erdő will bless the craftsmen’s bread.
The celebration starts on August 19th, programme of the Clark Ádám Square stage:
• 21.00: Ghymes együttes / Concert
• 22–24: Street ball
Augusztus 20th programme:
• 15.30: Consecration of Bread and Greeting
• 16.30-17: Craftsmen Parade
• 17-18: Mass – Saint Stephan Basilica
• 18-19: Saint Hand Procession
• 21: Fireworks
