From Head to Foot – The wear
Every year the festival chooses a specific craft to focus on. The main topic of this year is the traditional wear. Dressing “the wear” is perhaps one of the most exciting field of folk art as besides presenting the traditional wear, we will also present the traditional motifs, fabric and techniques used in modern clothes. In the spirit of the traditional and the modern under the patronage of Mrs Schmitt, wife of the President of Hungary the Festival and the Hungarian Heritage House launched an application with the title “From Head to Foot”. The jury selected winners form more than 135 applications. On the 19th of August at 7pm the most wonderful pieces will be presented in a magnificent fashion parade and award ceremony in the Lion Yard.
During the four days of the Festival the main topic will be presented in special workshops, where visitors can meet masters and can see and enjoy the manufacturing progress as well.
