At the Festival of Folk Arts, we put a spotlight on folk crafts. Our folk playhouse is open all day, offering hands-on craft sessions. Under the guidance of our excellent professional instructors, you can create items related to folk costumes and folk jewellery between 10 am and 7 pm. This interactive experience, with the participation and assistance of our current and former students, is a unique opportunity to delve into our rich cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

You can make woven bracelets, felted earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and garlands decorated with husk flowers and painted medallions with the tuffled technique, giving a taste of furniture painting and leather jewellery.<\/p>\n

In addition, all four days, from 1 pm to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 5.30 pm, the wealth of folk costumes is revealed to us, as we can see exciting folk costume shows and admire the diversity of our folk culture.<\/p>\n

The folk puppet theatre and dance to live music make the programme even more varied. The shady square is also ideal for those who enjoy live storytelling. Should you wish to rest in this great bustle, storytellers and beautiful folk music concerts will help you do so.<\/p>\n

11 am – 12 pm         Julcsi Pa\u00e1r: Round Woods, a fairy tale concert for the family  <\/strong><\/p>\n

1 pm – 2 pm          Folk Costume Show<\/strong> under the title „Hey, on the meadow of Palota –  living heritage, living community” presented by the R\u00e1kospalota Heritage Association<\/p>\n

2 pm – 2.15 pm        Live storytelling<\/strong> with S\u00e1ra Kiss, storyteller of the Living Tale Association<\/p>\n

3 pm – 3.30 pm       \u00c1lomz\u00fag Company: Beyond the Glass Mount or the Sea-crossing Shoes puppet show<\/strong><\/p>\n

3:40 pm – 4.45 pm  Dance of the Little Ones<\/strong>, lap games, dance instructions for young and older kids with \u00c1gnes T\u00e1las; music played by Gyula Horv\u00e1th and R\u00f3bert Ker\u00e9nyi<\/p>\n

2.30 pm – 7 pm        Folk Playhouse<\/strong>, where you can create wicker windmills at the craft tables, guided by Zolt\u00e1n Kov\u00e1cs, a basket-weaving folk artist based in J\u00e1roksz\u00e1ll\u00e1s, and the students from the craft courses of the Hungarian Heritage House.<\/p>\n

10 am – 7 pm           Fabatka Porta folk playground<\/p>\n

11 am – 12 pm         Kl\u00e1risok Band: Walking in the Skye, a fairy tale concert for the family  <\/strong><\/p>\n

2.30 pm – 7 pm       Folk playhouse<\/strong>, where you can create leather jewellery at the craft tables, led by Vir\u00e1g R\u00e1k\u00f3czi, a folk artist, alongside the Hungarian Heritage House craft courses students.<\/p>\n
