35th Festival of Folk Arts
Buda Castle transforms into a festival location full of wonders between the 20st and 22nd of August on Festival of Folk Arts. Best of Hungarian craftsmen present their art, market showmen and street artists will bring the atmosphere of a medieval fair. The Festival of Folk Arts is one of the biggest family event of the year, where the best folk and world musicians will show their talent on our stage, live shows of craftsmen add special addition to the fair. In focus are the tradtional fishing and hunting crafts. While the childen are amused by fairytales and puppet theater, the adults can learn more about the traditional crafts in the visual workshops. In this year our guests of honor are the Turkic speaking countries. The acknowledged masters of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tatarstan (RF), Turkey and Uzbekistan will come and present their knowledge and handicraft heritage. During the 3 days the attendees among others can meet with Azeri carpet weaver Kazakh jewelry designer, Kyrgyz traditional costume designer, Turkish ebru artist, Uzbek batik artist and Tatar leather makers.
